Grace Ukpai
Grace Ukpai is a dedicated nurse and committed volunteer with a passion for giving back. Born and raised in Uganda, she brings a positive attitude, effervescent personality, and strong work ethic to everything she does. At GVU, Grace’s energy, optimism, and commitment make her an invaluable member of the team.
Action Committee Member
Grace Ukpai was born in Kampala, Uganda, and always dreamed of studying on an American campus like those she saw on TV. In 2016, she joined her sister, GVU founder Suzan Rickett, in Concord, California. Grace’s first impressions of the U.S.—from abundant fast food to the beauty of National Parks—gave her a new perspective on life in Uganda. Motivated by her mother’s tireless work ethic and her sister’s example, Grace pursued her education and graduated with a nursing degree at Chamberlain University College in April 2024.

In 2020, Grace met her fiancé, Gideon Ukpai, also a GVU Advisory Committee member, and were married in June 2024. While she misses her family and friends in Uganda, she enjoys cooking Ugandan dishes at home and dreams of visiting her country again someday. At Greater Vision, Grace contributes her time and energy to volunteering, bringing a joyful personality, positive attitude, and can-do spirit that inspire the entire team. Her dedication and enthusiasm make her an invaluable part of GVU, and we are grateful to have her on our committee.
